Summary
To celebrate the launch of IBM’s new open-source corporate typeface family, IBM Plex®, we created a site that could tell the extraordinary story of how Plex was designed and developed. The strategy was to have Plex’s unique spirit steer the experience into something engaging and unexpected with educational, fun, interactive discoveries — packing the site with a motley gang of visuals from animations, video, historical images, “type-testers” to surprising large letterforms. Additionally, we set out to showcase the non-Latin Plex scripts designed by an international assembly of world-class type designers. As a result, the site is a rich, informative, and dynamic experience with unpredictable opportunities to play around with Plex and learn its remarkable story.
